Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Treatment
An evidence-based program for parents of children with anxiety or OCD
Are you a parent who feels helpless watching your child struggle with anxiety or OCD?
You are not alone—and there is hope.
What is SPACE?
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-based treatment developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at Yale University. It is backed by strong scientific research showing that when parents change their own responses to anxiety, children experience meaningful reductions in symptoms.
How it Works
Parents, not children, participate. Your child does not need to attend therapy sessions.
You’ll learn practical tools to reduce accommodation (the ways families may unintentionally support anxiety) and to respond with warmth and confidence.
Together, we create a step-by-step plan tailored to your family’s needs.
Why Parents?
Research shows that when parents adjust their approach, children gain resilience, independence, and relief from anxiety symptoms—without needing to push or pressure them. Parents leave SPACE with concrete strategies and renewed hope.
Evidence-Based and Encouraging
SPACE has been tested in clinical trials and is now recommended worldwide as a gold-standard treatment for childhood anxiety and OCD. As your therapist, I will guide you with compassion, encouragement, and clear strategies you can put into action right away.
This is your invitation.
You don’t need to go it alone. With SPACE treatment, you can help your child move toward a calmer, more confident life—while strengthening your connection with them.
